A Floatie: an inflatable object on which a person may sit or recline while floating in water. Or, in Class Afloat speak, a friend, crew mate and companion with whom you have shared life-changing experiences and who keeps you afloat, making you feel at ease, safe and confident in your own skin.

Stepping off the Gulden Leeuw was definitely a change in this port, compared to the others. Personally, I have been to Morocco before, but most of the students onboard weren't used to the shock of such a different culture.

Details of the Trek
The crew sailed from Porto on October 1st with Porto Cervo in our headway. We’ve passed through the Straight of Gibraltar and right next to the coast of Spain, Ibiza, Mallorca, and Minorca.

After more than two weeks spent adjusting to life at sea, ship routines, galley duties, night watches, new classes and scheduling, Class Afloat students arrived in Porto on the morning of September 26th and were thrilled to plant their feet on solid ground.
