Class Afloat is grounded in developing well-rounded young adults. Just like a ship sailing through stormy waters, there are challenges we face in life, which can be daunting and scary. However, if we learn how to sail our ship, we can navigate through the storm and come out on the other side. We are also reminded that we have control over our lives. Just as a sailor can steer their ship through stormy waters, we can take charge of our lives and steer ourselves in the direction we want to go, even in the face of challenges. . We try to remind ourselves and our students to embrace challenges and difficulties in life as opportunities for growth and learning.
